The EE-Kolleg 2026, organized by ASMPT SMT Solutions together with six partner companies, brought together 120 professionals from the electronics manufacturing industry in Mallorca. The four-day event featured two days of high-caliber technical presentations, networking opportunities, and a dedicated one day team-building activity.
Under the motto "Electronics Manufacturing 360° – Trends | Challenges | Solutions", the event focused on the latest developments and future trends shaping the electronics manufacturing industry.
During the Get-Together on Wednesday, participants had the opportunity to make their connections with the organizers and fellow industry professionals. Throughout the event, numerous breaks between presentations provided ample time for technical discussions and personal networking.
Thursday's highlights included the presentation "Material Flow Automation with Driverless Transport Systems" by Jenik Grimsmann (ESCD GmbH), showcasing the successful implementation of ASMPT solutions in automated material handling, as well as "Challenges Posed by Miniaturized Designs in the Soldering Process" by Helge Schimanski (Fraunhofer Institute for Silicon Technology ISIT), who addressed current soldering challenges for miniaturized assemblies using 01005 diodes and SOD323HP components as examples. On Friday, Justin Oppelt (Preh GmbH) presented "Automated SMT Assembly of Solid Busbars in Power Electronics."
For the first time, EE-Kolleg was specifically opened to a broader European audience. Thanks to professional simultaneous interpreters, international participants were able to follow all presentations and discussions without language barriers.
The high-quality technical presentations and the team-building event received very positive feedback from participants, once again making EE-Kolleg a valuable platform for knowledge sharing, professional exchange, and networking.
