Thomas Marktscheffel, Director Product Management Software Solutions at ASMPT and co-chair of the IPC-2591 Committee and the IPC-2591 CFX Task Group, is the winner of one of this year’s Dieter Bergmann IPC Fellowship Awards. The award recognizes his long-standing commitment to the development and dissemination of the IPC-2591 CFX standard. The prestigious award was presented at the IPC APEX EXPO in San Diego, California. The award is linked to a memorial scholarship, which Thomas Marktscheffel wants to hand over to the University of Karlsruhe, his alma mater.
“This award means a lot to me and I am very proud of it, but I can only accept it on behalf of our entire CFX A team, which is doing truly outstanding work in establishing this communication standard which is so immensely important for the electronics industry. As a technology pioneer, ASMPT always focuses on the benefit of our customers as well as of the entire industry. I am firmly convinced that open standard interfaces are essential enablers for future-proof integrated smart factories in the electronics manufacturing industry,” said Thomas Marktscheffel.
The Dieter Bergman IPC Fellowship Award is given to individuals who promote a collaborative spirit, make significant contributions to the development of standards, and demonstrate a consistent commitment to global standardization efforts in the electronics industry.
